Everyone knows that Magazine work is the most demanding work in the photography business. This is because Photo Editors at every national magazine insist on perfection every single time. There is no room for GOOD, in the magazine end of the photography business, everything has to be PERFECT and done right the first time.

Magazines insist on utilizing the very best photographers that money can buy and they hire photographers from all over the world to work for them.

DreamShotz is constantly sought out by national magazines and consistently utilized on a regular basis. Consider that the vast majority of our annual revenue at DreamShotz comes from doing this type of photography work. In fact, we have been published more times, in more national magazines than any other competitor in the state.

Most importantly, every single job we do involves shooting female subjects and always with the intent of making our subjects look beautiful, glamorous and sexy. We don't shoot landscapes one day, kids the next day, family portraits on the third day and weddings on weekends. We shoot ONLY female subjects and years of experience ensures that we make you look the best you can possibly look.

If the very best glamour / beauty magazines in the country find our work to be worthy of their reputation, don't you deserve our level of expertise / experience as well?

You will find our work to be second to none, our people to be warm, professional, efficient, and caring and our prices to be much more competitive than you might guess.

Don't you deserve to look the best you can look?

The photo on the left is the actual set of a recent Magazine shoot. The set  looks pretty dull with just normal camera flash and a fog machine. The photo on the right is one of the resulting photos that you saw in the actual magazine. This shot required 8 lights, a fog machine and a wind machine to transform this cement room into a rock concert. NO Photoshop manipulation was used in creating these effects.

People often ask where we find some of the great sets that we shoot models on. And while sometimes we get to work in gorgeous location settings, these locations almost always look much better on camera then they do in real life. The truth is most of these sets never really exist the way you see them on camera. Often indoor shoots are done in big empty boring rooms and through the magic of professional lighting techniques these uninviting rooms transform into the beautiful sets that you see in magazines.

Even shots done on a beach or with enormous waterfalls or amazing sunsets are often greatly enhanced / emphasized with various lighting techniques.  Professional Photographers utilize the same techniques used by the movie industry to make everything look bigger, better, and more dramatic than it is in real life.

This ability to create the "magic" of a perfect sunset stroll on a beach or take you right on stage during a rock concert is what separates a professional photographer from an amateur. Possessing the skill and equipment to make this magic happen "on demand" is why you pay a professional photographer the fees we charge. Pressing the shutter release is the easy part of the job.

Anyone can take a snapshot and get a lucky shot. A professional photographer has to create his "luck " on demand, every single day, for every single assignment. Clients expect 100% Predictable, Consistent, Reliable results every single time. We deliver exactly what our clients want and we do it right the first time.

Our experience as Magazine Photographers means we are used to typically working under the added pressure of: the clock is ticking, this cast, crew, location and talent is costing big money, etc.  Being able to create the "luck" under these conditions is the part is that takes years of experience, lots of expensive equipment, and truly separates the professionals from the amateurs.

The photo on the left is the actual set of a recent Cover shoot for Knockout Magazine, and photo on the right is the resulting shot to be used on the cover. YES the black panthers are real. The 11 lights used in this shot focused 3.5 times as much light on the black cats as the model. Laying on the floor just a few feet in front of live panthers for hours at a time requires dedication to the profession, and a whole lot of panther treats. Catching them at just the right moment requires tons of patience and a bit of luck with the actual timing. Stand ins are used for light placement and adjustment prior to bringing the talent and cats on set. NO Photoshop manipulation was used in creation of this image.

The photo on the left is the actual set of a recent Model Shoot. In this photo, you are looking at the couch with heavily tinted glass doors keeping the very bright Arizona summer sun from overheating the room and fading the interior furniture. Notice how overly bright the outside appears in the camera even though the glass is heavily tinted. Once these glass doors were opened, the outside was even brighter making it more difficult to balance the interior setting with the outdoor setting.

In the second shot, the homeowner, Bruce and the model talk about how to get the shot done ASAP so the 114 degree Arizona summer heat doesn’t overpower the home’s air conditioning system when the retractable wall is opened. Look close and you’ll notice 3 of the 7 eights used on this set to create the final shot. Notice the size of the couch and the darkness in the room itself. This required 4000 Watt Seconds of strategically placed lighting just to balance the lighting level on the couch within the room with the level of the outdoors.

And finally, notice how a polarizing filter adds so much color to the sky and outdoor environment, and how gel lighting is used to warm up the look of the enormous couch and the model. The outside background was blurred by using a high focal length lens to ensure that the attention remained on the model and not the picturesque background. NO Photoshop manipulation was used in creation of this image.

The photo on the left shows the master bathroom as the camera actually sees it during a recent model shoot. The photo on the right is after we added a gorgeous girl and 9 lights. What, you can’t see what the lights did. Notice how the bathroom in the back went just about black to a strong blue which when combined with the light on the blue ottoman helps pull in the teal blue from the model’s wardrobe. Notice the light on the green plant just behind the model. Notice the vase of flowers jumps off the page.

Did you notice the bright white doorway in the back right and the red marble ball on the counter in the right side. In additional hair lights and rim light on both the left and right side of the model and a skimmer light across the bathtub faucet all combine to add strategically placed detail that all work to draw your eyes into this photograph. When we added a bounce light and cabinet accent lights we had exactly the look we wanted. Add one more light to aim at the model and we are done. NO Photoshop manipulation was used in creation of this image. (click on an image to enlarge it)
